Virtual Garden
The Virtual Garden was a challenge in creating a cohesive scene and mood. Every asset in this scene was custom made and textured, from the Gazebo to the trees, in order to create a magical fantasy feel.
I painted the textures for the bridge and the gazebo, to give them a worn and carved look using Adobe Substance Painter. I created the trees and bushes by design a leaf texture and particle effects, using shader nodes to add color variety. I used geometry nodes to create waves and distortion in the water and everything that interacted with it. I wanted to create a serene night feeling so I also used shader nodes to create stylized clouds resembling that classic stylized anime look and fireflies.
This treasure chest model was created using photogrammetry. The original chest was given to me by my great grandmother.
I used a studio setup to take a video of the chest from all angles, later using RealityCapture to create a 3d scan of it. Using points I made sure to align the frames of the video resulting in an incredibly scan. The trickiest part of the model was retopologizing. In order to have clean loops I made sure my new wireframe was made up of quads. The handles at the side are where it got tricky, as the scanner struggled to read a more organically shaped object, so the handle were modeled seperately using reference photos as a guide, and later attached to the newly cleaned wireframe.
To transfer the vertex colors of the original mesh into a proper UV map for the new mesh I baked the textures of the old mesh into the new one, and cleaned up any areas with Adobe Substance Painter.

Temple of Heofon
Concept Art

The Temple of Heofon was my challenge to combine all the techniques I knew in Blender and make something out of them.
I made this scene by creating modular environment pieces that I could reuse over and over. Each piece was hand painted in Procreate. The hardest challenge was the statue in the center of the temple, my first attempt in making an actual charater model. I sculpted and rigged the character to model him in the desired pose before adding him to the scene. I created a soft light effect by putting two seperately colored lights in the scene to give the temple a warm and welcoming feel.
